Mandy & Peter | Waldenwoods wedding photos: I rarely say this but I CAN’T EVEN. I mean, there’s Mandy & Peter, who are two incredibly awesome, open-hearted, joyful, creative, smartypants folks and then there’s their Waldenwoods wedding, which was kinda out of this world…I don’t even know where to start. Probably the best place is a disclaimer that I’m posting too many photos but there were so many memorable moments and visuals that leaving any of them out would leave their story incomplete.
I feel that every wedding is perfect in their own right, even when the day is running an hour behind, or it’s a million degrees out, or the best man’s speech is kinda awkward – I mean, all of those things help to build the day that two people commit themselves to each other and each other’s families. So, really, there’s no true “perfection.” BUT, I will say that everything at Mandy & Peter’s wedding was all SO good, it kinda blew my mind. All the people who gathered to celebrate them were fun and present and excited about being there; the decor, brilliant designed and curated by Mandy, was clever and beautiful and added so much to the ambiance but didn’t overshadow the reason we were all there. There were many, many incredibly lovely kids (who were all amenable to making photos with me). There was Mandy & Peter’s families and bridal party who were helpful and fun and sassy and just so easy. There was the perfect weather for the entire day. There were gorgeous clouds in the sky that created a lovely frame for our photos. There was really good food. There was really fun dancing! And … there was Mandy & Peter, who I have come to adore. I love Mandy’s quiet forthrightness and Peter’s kinda snarky half-smile. They are both charming and gracious. And, most importantly, as I could tell after meeting them on Skype only once before the wedding, they are so, so good for each other. Working with couples who are just RIGHT for each other, is such a gift, for many reasons, but mostly because of the love that emanates from them and how it oozes out onto everyone in their presence.
A few notes from Mandy on the special touches included in their amazing day: “The blue handkerchief was my grandma’s (mom’s mom) who passed away last year and our rings, my engagement ring and Peter’s wedding band were made from his grandma’s wedding ring (dad’s mom). We designed a new band for her diamond for the engagement ring and then had her band melted down as part of Peter’s wedding band.”
Thank you for giving me the honor of photographing your wedding, Mandy & Peter! I love you guys!
